Psychology Fees and Practice Policies
At Life’s InnaSolutions, we believe everyone should have access to counselling. Our fees are negotiable in cases of severe financial hardship. Please note that the fees listed below are for counselling appointments only; additional services like reports may incur extra charges.
Our Psychology Session Fees:
The practice is not currently offering in-person services. All consultations are being delivered via Telehealth
What is a valid GP referral?
A valid referral should include your full name, date of birth, and current address. It should also confirm that you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan in place, request the provision of psychological treatment, and outline an eligible diagnosis and/or presenting symptoms. Under the current Medicare allowance, you may be eligible for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. These sessions are typically provided across two referrals — usually 6 sessions on the initial referral, followed by an additional 4 sessions on a subsequent referral if required.
Psychological Reports:
Prices are on request. This practice does not provide medico-legal reports, legal letters, or court-related documentation. If you require services of this nature, we are able to refer you to appropriately qualified psychologists who practice within this area.
Confidentiality:
Your privacy and confidentiality are very important to us. Personal information collected as part of your assessment and treatment is stored securely and treated with the utmost care. Access to your information is limited to your treating psychologist. There are some situations where confidentiality may need to be breached, including where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, where records are required by a court subpoena, where you have provided written consent, or where disclosure is otherwise required by law. Wherever possible, these situations will be discussed with you openly and respectfully.
Telehealth Services and Privacy:
Psychological services may be delivered via telehealth, including video conferencing or telephone sessions, where clinically appropriate. Telehealth services use third-party digital platforms. While reasonable steps are taken to use secure and reputable systems, no electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure or free from risk. Clients are responsible for ensuring they are in a private, confidential, and appropriate setting during Telehealth sessions to help protect their privacy and confidentiality.
Electronic Communication (Email and SMS):
Email and SMS may be used for limited administrative purposes only, such as appointment confirmations, reminders, and the provision of forms. Email is not a secure form of communication. Sensitive or clinical information will not be sent via email unless explicit informed consent has been obtained. SMS is not a secure or appropriate method for clinical communication and must not be used to discuss personal, therapeutic, or sensitive information. Clients are advised not to use email or SMS for urgent, clinical, or crisis-related matters, as these communication methods are not monitored outside of business hours and are not suitable for urgent support. In the event of an emergency or crisis, clients should contact emergency services or appropriate crisis support services. (Lifeline: 13 11 14, Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467 or 000 if it is an emergency)
Clinical Documentation and Use of Digital Tools:
In accordance with legal, ethical, and professional record-keeping requirements, psychologists are required to maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records. To support efficient and accurate documentation, AI-assisted clinical documentation tools such as NovoNote Scribe may be used during or following sessions. These tools are used solely to assist with clinical note preparation and do not replace clinical judgement. Any information processed through such systems is handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, professional ethical standards, and secure data handling practices. All clinical records remain confidential and form part of your official clinical record. Information is only used or disclosed where required for lawful, ethical, or clinical purposes. Clients are welcome to discuss any questions or concerns regarding the use of digital documentation tools with their psychologist at any time.
Professional Consultation and Supervision:
In accordance with the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct and relevant professional standards, psychologists are required to engage in regular professional supervision and/or consultation. Supervision is a standard and essential part of psychological practice and helps ensure safe, ethical, and effective client care. During supervision or consultation, a psychologist may discuss aspects of their clinical work with a qualified supervisor or peer consultant. Wherever possible, information is de-identified. In some circumstances, limited identifying information may be shared where necessary for clinical guidance, risk management, or client safety. All supervisors and consultants are bound by strict professional, ethical, and confidentiality obligations in line with Board and professional requirements. Where a client’s case needs to be discussed in supervision in a way that may involve identifying information, consent will be sought where appropriate and practicable. Clients are welcome to raise any questions or concerns about supervision at any time.
